Website Design Must-Haves To Generate Leads For Your Business

In talking with business owners, there is a common theme in regards to their websites: they do not create enough leads to help grow their business. Building a website can be very challenging and time-consuming because there are so many things to consider. For example, you need to find the time to research what website design is best, how to create quality content, then there is search engine optimization (SEO) to ensure your site shows up in Google. With all these considerations and fear of doing something wrong, many business owners will either choose not to have a website built for their business or if they have an older site, they will choose not to update it.  Simply put, it can be paralyzing for a business owner.

I understand all this frustration because when I first started learning to build websites 7 years ago I went through all of it too. Now after learning everything I can about website design and SEO, along with working on hundreds of websites, I have created a series of ebooks built specifically for business owners for free.

In a series of articles related to lead generating websites, I want to provide you as local business owners the information to consider when either getting a new site or updating your current site. Before we get into the specifics about lead generating websites it is important to discuss the value of a lead generating website for your business vs. a standard business card website.

Your Website Design Is Critical To Your Business

Your website is a critical part of your marketing strategy and one of the most important parts of how your business markets itself. The reason your website is so important is most of your potential customers will visit your website when they become aware of your business through your marketing channels.  These consumers validate the legitimacy of your business and your ability to solve their problem based on the quality of your website. If your site does not build trust, communicate the benefits they will receive, clearly identify services offered, and most importantly resonate with your potential customer, they will find another business that does.

I am sorry to be so blunt, but all the data supports how most of your potential customers will visit your website to validate you before contacting you and if they don’t have a great experience they won’t contact you. If you don’t believe me, consider that 75 percent of consumers admit to making judgments on a company’s credibility based on the company’s website design. It takes a user of your website only .05 seconds to create an opinion about your website that will lead to them staying or leaving your site. This is why investing in a modern website is so important for your business.

I don’t tell you all of this important information to scare or intimidate you. While I can certainly understand if it does, I can’t stress enough how the importance of having a quality website will impact your business’ bottomline. Now that we covered the importance of a quality website let’s talk about the different options available to build your website and their pros and cons.
